WELCOME TO OXFORD YOUTH WORKS

Oxford Youth Works is a non-denominational organisation commited to God's mission amongst young people. OYW seek to provide long term mentoring relationships with Christian adults to young people in Oxford. A team of Christian youth workers spend time building relationships in schools, communities and homes all across the city. Youth workers get involved in the lives of young people; caring, supporting and challenging them as they engage with society, relationships, themselves and God. Young people have opportunities to hear the good news about Jesus and are helped to make sense of it in their lives and join with others in the family of God, the church.

Key to our work are people who have a passion for being alongside young people where ever they are. We work in three communities:Cutteslowe, Barton and Blackbird Leys. We also spend time in 4 secondary schools and 1 primary school getting to know young people and leading lunchtime groups and the occasional assembly. We also run small groups in schools and communities aimed at introducing young people to the Christian message and to worship and spirituality. See the JOY project. Centre for Youth Ministry is a consortium of training and youth work agencies committed to creating and providing courses, resources and research into Christian youth work.
